Memorial Day Picnic, 2012

Hello everyone! This past Monday was Memorial Day, meaning that our church hosted it's annual Memorial Day Picnic! We had a blast! This was by far the best year ever, and there were also the most people. Over 2,000 people showed up! The goal for the picnic is, "To bring the community together to honor veterans who have served our country and to give glory to God for His providential acts in our history."Here are some pictures from the event.

A Time to Remember

As many of you know, this Monday is Memorial Day. Over the years it has simply become an extra day in your weekend. Just another excuse for department stores to have huge sales and price drops. Very few Americans still treat this day the way it was intended to be: a day to honor our countries veterans. A day to say "thank you for risking your life for my freedom." A day to praise God for the overwhelming grace and mercy shown to our country. It is also a day to remember those who died heroes. Many of those died painful deaths in order to save many lives. This memorial day, make sure you take time to thank God for those who were willing to lay down their lives for the sake of liberty. Without those men, we would live in a much different America. One that had no respect for the word Liberty, a word many soldiers died for.
